About
A calm, honest read on the under-eye.
The Under-Eye Review is an independent editorial guide to under-eye dark circles. We explain the four things that cause the shadows under your eyes, the treatments that match each one, and the difference between an evidence-backed option and an expensive placebo. No sponsored rankings, no referral fees, no copy dressed up as a recommendation.
Why we exist
Search “dark circles” and you mostly find clinic landing pages, affiliate roundups chasing traffic, and breathless before-and-after promises. Almost none of it tells you the one thing that matters most: under-eye darkness has several distinct causes, and a treatment that fixes one can do nothing for another. We set out to be the quiet, careful guide we wished existed.
How we work
We read the research, we translate it into plain language, and we link out. When we point to a clinical journal or a specialist’s published writing, it is because the work earned the mention. We are an editorial publication, not a clinic, and we do not sell treatments or broker appointments.
Editorial standards
We use cautious language. We say may help instead of cures, and we tell you when an answer is still genuinely unknown. We cite primary sources, peer-reviewed studies, device labeling, and professional guidelines whenever a claim warrants it. And we always tell readers to talk to a licensed clinician about their own situation. This publication is not a substitute for medical advice.
Independence
The Under-Eye Review is independently run and reader-first. We accept no payment for coverage, run no sponsored placements, and answer to no clinic, device maker, or pharmaceutical brand. That independence is the whole point: it is what lets us tell you when a popular under-eye fix is not worth your money.
